Siouxland Renaissance Belly Dancers' Schedule

The Little Sisters of the Desert Sands (a.k.a. Liquid Hip Therapy) will perform at the 2010 Siouxland Renaissance Festival June 5th and 6th. They will perform at the Castle Stage at 11:00, 1:45, and 4:00 on Saturday. On Sunday, they will dance at 11:00 and 1:45. Their shows are always entertaining.

2010 Midwest Renaissance Festival

The Midwest Renaissance Festival in Omaha, NE opens Saturday, May 29th and closes Memorial Day. It’s open from 11:00-6:00 pm. Gems and Jewels will be there for belly dancers who need to shop.

13th JAV Renaissance Festival

Many belly dancers are going to perform at the James Arthur Vineyards 13th Annual Renaissance Faire on May 22. It lasts from noon to 8:00 pm and only costs $1. Raqs Awn and Benu are just two of the troupes performing in the afternoon.

Every Woman Matters

Many belly dancers are coming together on July 31st at 7:00 pm in Lincoln, NE for "Every Woman Matters." The venue, the Joyo Theater, is an old movie theater in the Havelock district of Lincoln. Tickets for audience members are $15.00. All proceeds from tickets, beyond cost of the site and advertising, will go to "Every Woman Matters" an organization that provides breast and cervical cancer screening to women. Nebraska troupes and soloists already agreed to participate are: Desert Angels, Benu, Tracy Risch, Sanet, Liezel, Daughters of Nefertiti, Karavan of Dreams, Christina, Prarie Moon, Hallie, Morgan, Athenian Dancers, the Whorl Winds, Duet Ashiya and Naajida.

Tomorrow is World Belly Dance Day

Don't forget about World Belly Dance Day at Metamorphosis Belly Dance Studio in Omaha on Saturday, May 8th. The address is 1108 Jackson Street Omaha NE 68102. The festivities begin at 1:00 pm. There will be dancers and vendors, and the proceeds will go for charity.
